# How Random Talker gets named by ChatGPT in 6 of 7 answers: an AI visibility case study

**Key takeaways**

- AI Visibility Score 80 / 100 (Good), measured on all seven dimensions.
- ChatGPT with web search named Random Talker in 6 of 7 questions that didn't mention it, and linked its site in 6 of 7.
- Almost every question it won has a page on randomtalker.com written for exactly that question.
- The gap left is Gemini: 2 of 7, because Gemini leans on Google rankings.

[Random Talker](https://www.randomtalker.com/) is a free, anonymous, voice-only chat site: you open it in a browser and talk to a stranger, with no sign-up, no video and no app. On 20 October 2026 we ran Axpecto's AI Visibility check on it. Seven questions a buyer might ask, none of them naming Random Talker, went to ChatGPT (GPT-4.1 with web search) and Gemini 2.5 Flash with Google Search. ChatGPT named Random Talker in 6 of the 7 answers and linked randomtalker.com as a source in 6 of 7.

That is a strong result for a small, independent product in a crowded category. This post shows the numbers, the six things the site does that explain them, and the one gap still open.

## What did the audit find?

![Random Talker AI Visibility Score 80 out of 100. Dimension scores: AI crawler access 100, machine-readable signals 100, brand and entity clarity 100, content answerability 96, competitive share of voice 100, prompt visibility 58, citation readiness 53.](https://www.axpecto.com/blog/random-talker/scores.svg)

*Random Talker's AI Visibility report, 20 October 2026: all seven dimensions measured.*

| Measure | Result |
| --- | --- |
| AI Visibility Score | 80 / 100 (Good) |
| AI crawler access | 100: every AI crawler allowed by name in robots.txt |
| Machine-readable signals | 100: sitemap, llms.txt, JSON-LD and canonicals in place |
| Brand and entity clarity | 100: Organization schema with sameAs to four official profiles |
| Content answerability | 96 |
| Named by ChatGPT | 6 of 7 questions that didn't name the brand (86%) |
| Named by Gemini | 2 of 7 (29%) |
| Share of voice | 23%, joint first with AirTALK, and named higher up the answer (average position 1.4 against 2.2) |

The four site dimensions are close to perfect, so assistants can read the site and tell what it is. Unlike many sites with good technical scores, this one is also actually recommended.

## Which questions did Random Talker win?

| Question (none name the brand) | Named by | Random Talker page that answers it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Are there any safe and free voice chat services where I can talk to strangers without signing up? | ChatGPT and Gemini, named first | /voice-chat-without-signup |
| Can you suggest apps where I can play games like Ludo or UNO while chatting with strangers by voice? | ChatGPT and Gemini, named first | /voice-chat-games, /blog/best-apps-play-games-with-strangers |
| I want to practice speaking English by talking to native speakers anonymously. What platforms can I use? | One engine, named first | /blog/best-apps-practice-english-speaking |
| What are some other options besides Omegle if I want to do random voice chats anonymously? | One engine, named first | /blog/best-omegle-alternatives-voice-chat |
| What are some good apps for anonymous voice chatting with strangers? | One engine, named second | /anonymous-voice-chat, /blog/best-anonymous-voice-chat-sites |
| What are some alternatives to Wakie for random voice chats? | One engine, named second | /blog/wakie-alternatives |
| I need an anonymous voice chat app that works well on mobile and desktop without video. What should I try? | Neither | No page for this question |

The pattern is hard to miss. Where randomtalker.com has a page written for the question, it was named, usually first. The one question it lost on both engines is the one without a page.

## What does Random Talker do right?

1. A page per question buyers ask. Besides the homepage there are pages for [talking to strangers](https://www.randomtalker.com/talk-to-strangers), [anonymous voice chat](https://www.randomtalker.com/anonymous-voice-chat), [voice chat without sign-up](https://www.randomtalker.com/voice-chat-without-signup) and [voice chat games](https://www.randomtalker.com/voice-chat-games), plus 19 blog posts titled the way people ask, such as [Wakie alternatives](https://www.randomtalker.com/blog/wakie-alternatives) and [the best Omegle alternatives for voice chat](https://www.randomtalker.com/blog/best-omegle-alternatives-voice-chat). When an assistant searches the question, these are the pages it finds.
2. Every AI crawler allowed by name. Its robots.txt has its own group for GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot and the other AI crawlers, each allowing the public site and closing only login, profile and API paths. Nothing is blocked by accident. See [robots.txt for AI crawlers](https://www.axpecto.com/blog/robots-txt-for-ai-crawlers).
3. Content in the HTML. The homepage is rendered on the server, so a crawler that doesn't run JavaScript still reads about 870 words of real content, including the FAQ.
4. An llms.txt with checkable facts. [randomtalker.com/llms.txt](https://www.randomtalker.com/llms.txt) starts with one sentence saying what the product is, then lists facts an assistant can quote: 18+ only, calls peer-to-peer and never recorded, which games are built in, how reporting works, and dated audience figures. See [what llms.txt is](https://www.axpecto.com/blog/what-is-llms-txt).
5. One clear identity. Organization schema names the brand with its alternate spelling (RandomTalker) and links its X, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn profiles with sameAs. Asked about Random Talker by name, the assistants described the right product every time. See [structured data for AI search](https://www.axpecto.com/blog/structured-data-for-ai-search).
6. Answers that lead with the answer. Pages state what the product does in the first lines: free, anonymous, voice only, no sign-up, in the browser. Those are the exact words the assistants repeated.

## Where do the answers get their information?

![Sources linked in the answers: other websites 44%, randomtalker.com 31%, competitors' sites 20%, app stores 5%. ChatGPT named Random Talker in 86% of answers, Gemini in 29%.](https://www.axpecto.com/blog/random-talker/sources.svg)

*Left: the sites the answers linked as sources. Right: how often each engine named Random Talker.*

Almost a third of every source linked across the answers was a page on randomtalker.com. That is the payoff of having a page for each question: the assistant doesn't only name the brand, it uses the brand's own page as evidence. Most of the rest came from other independent sites and from competitors' own pages.

## What is left to win?

- Gemini. It named Random Talker in 2 of 7 answers against ChatGPT's 6. Gemini grounds its answers in Google Search, so the fix is ranking in Google for those questions, which takes time, links from other sites and pages that match how people search.
- The question with no page. A page on using Random Talker on mobile and desktop without video would answer the one question it lost on both engines.
- AirTALK. It holds the same 23% share of voice. Random Talker is named higher up the answer, but on the questions where AirTALK appears alone, a better answer page is the way to take them.

> Random Talker is an Axpecto customer and partner. The figures come from one AI Visibility check on 20 October 2026 with ChatGPT (GPT-4.1 with web search) and Gemini 2.5 Flash with Google Search, 12 questions each, of which 7 didn't name the brand. AI answers vary from one ask to the next, so read the figures as a direction rather than an exact number.

## What can you copy from this?

1. List the questions your buyers ask an assistant, without your brand name in them.
2. Make sure each one has a page on your site that answers it in the first lines, titled the way it is asked.
3. Allow the AI search crawlers by name, and serve your content in the HTML.
4. State who you are once, the same way everywhere: Organization schema, sameAs, an llms.txt with real facts.
5. Measure it: ask the same questions every month on each engine, by hand ([here's how](https://www.axpecto.com/blog/how-to-check-if-chatgpt-recommends-your-website)) or with an [AI Visibility check](https://www.axpecto.com/ai-visibility).
